Market Closures Due to CZU Fire
The CZU Fire is deeply affecting our community. A large swath of north county is under mandatory evacuation (MAP). As we move forward, hosting and cancelling markets, we are taking into account evacuation orders, fire safety and air quality. The Felton, Scotts Valley and Westside markets are CLOSED until further notice. The Downtown SC and Live Oak markets are pending. Follow us on social media for updates. Stay safe.

Steven’s family has strong ties to the land in California’s Central Valley. In the 1920s, his grandfather, Frank, started a 20-acre vineyard. Henry, Steven’s father, purchased most of the current acreage of Kashiwase Farms in 1948, planted it with peaches and almonds, and built the farmhouse in which Steven’s mother currently resides. After studying pomology and entomology at UC Davis, Steven began farming in the 1970s and converted to organic agriculture in the 1990s. Steven and Lisa live in town with their two children, Sammy and Rachael.
Truly a small Santa Cruz community farm, Windmill specializes in heirloom fruit and vegetable varieties. They believe that the original strains of food plants need to be recognized not only for their genetic importance but also to preserve their presence in modern farming practices.
